i have this monitor is it the one to detect breathing? i would suggest downloading directions and go from there. i have this monitor you need to place the pad completly under the mattress if there is springs you need to place a thin board between the springs and pad. make sure the cord runs out the underside of the mattress and plugs into the unit. there is a sensitivity i have it in the middle my daughter is 4 months and it works well so far. never put other batteries in the parent units only the rechargable ones. There is a ton more but i hope this helps.
