What is the highest heel you would like to try walking in?

Best answer:
6 inch stilettos. if i can walk in those, i can do anything!A platform heel I would wear as big as I could find! I LOVE big shoes!! I am the big shoe queen!
As for heels, I probably wouldn't go bigger than 4 or 5 inches if I actually had to walk in them for an extended period.Platform would be easier but i have a hard time walking in heels already but maybe a 6inch.I guessas a regular heel, a rene caovilla, but they're too steep.....but really glamorous!!

Cracked Heel Treatment for Dry and Thick Skin

Article by Douglas Hale

Many people deal with a common foot problem known as cracked heels or heel fissures. Heel fissures are found either in the skin on the bottom of the foot or the skin on the sides of the heel-and when they get irritated, they can be painful and even cause the skin area to bleed. This problem of cracked heels occurs when the combination of dry skin and friction from the shoe rubbing against the heel cause the skin to become irritated. With the addition of a callus, which is a thicker area of skin on the heel, there can be a deep and painful infection.

The Causes of Dry and Thick Skin

Treatment for heel fissures and dry, thick skin on the heel area involves investigating the causes and taking steps to rehydrate and buffer the thick area of skin. Knowing the reasons why calluses and cracked heels are forming in the first place can help you know what needs to be changed in your daily routine and the preventative measure you can take. Here are a few reasons why calluses and heel fissure occur:

1.The person has naturally dry skin

2.Skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis

3.The person has a mechanical failure when walking

4.Too much time is spent standing on hard surfaces at work or home

5.There is additional pressure on the foot area due to being overweight

6.The wrong shoes are being worn, such as shoes with open backs that do not keep the heel firmly in place

7.Certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or an underactive thyroid that produce dryer skin

No More Cracked Heels and Calluses

In addition to knowing the reasons why the thick skin is forming, treatment for heel fissures focuses on rehydrating the area. Some people will need a specially prescribed cream to heal the foot, while others may be able to treat the condition using home remedies. Here are some additional tips on treatment for heel fissures, calluses, and thick skin:

1.Use special creams prescribed by a podiatrist and socks that will help to keep the area moistened.

2.Soaking the feet in warm water before bed and make sure feet remain rehydrated during the night.

3.Use an exfoliator on the rough, dry areas

4.Remove the thick skin by smoothing the callus or using a foot scrubber

5.If the area is painful, strapping may be used to make sure the cracks heal together

6.Seek advice about correct shoes and ways to prevent the problem

7.Wear custom orthotics or arch supports to help with mechanical problems and keep calluses from forming

If the cracked heels have progressed to the point where the heel fissure has formed or is painful or bleeding, make an appointment to see a podiatrist. As with any condition, it's important to get an accurate diagnosis. A podiatrist can also help you determine what types of mechanical problems might be causing the heel fissures and prescribed the best methods to get the fissures healed, calluses reduced, and the skin rehydrated.
