Has anyone had success using VS-C by Nature's Sunshine to treat and prevent oral or genital herpes?

I don't put a whole lot of stock in over-the-counter herpes medications.

The trouble is that, for most herpes sufferers, outbreaks naturally get less frequent and less severe over time as your body gets better and better at fighting the disease. So its impossible to know how much better the disease would have gotten on its own, as compared with using various medications. People may report improvement, but there is no way of knowing how much improvement they may have gotten taking nothing at all.

When I first got genital herpes, I had perhaps five outbreaks per year. And they were pretty bad. Now, years later, I get maybe one or two, and they are no where near as severe as they were when I was first diagnosed. Also, I currently take nothing for my herpes, whereas I used to take Famvir.

The only thing that has been proven, in large-scale blind testing, to reduce the frequency and severity of herpes, and to reduce the likelihood of passing the disease on to others, is antiviral drugs.

With that said, everyones herpes symptoms are different. If the cost of the over-the-counter medication is not high, and there is nothing in it that will hurt you, go ahead and try it.

Just know that NOTHING will completely cure herpes, and you can still transmit it (even if you are on antiviral drugs) when you have no symptoms present.
